This segment of the trail starts at the southern tip of Dominica in the village of Scott's Head. The trail traverses an ancient volcanic crater. Sulphur deposits along the way give testimony to Dominica's volcanic origins. WNT Segment 1 ends in the village of Soufriere, where a trip to the Soufriere Sulphur Springs can rejuvenate your tired muscles.
