Comment: We, my german wife and i did this hike in 1992, she made it to valley of desolation, saved her strength for the return journey, the tracks were not half as good as they are today, I went on to see the lake. What amazed me the most is the two(what can i say)holes on the side dripping fresh water into the lake. Phenominal.

"The valley spirit never dies; It is the woman, primal mother. Her gateway is the root of heaven and earth. It is like a veil barely seen, Use it;it will never fail"

Happy hikeing.

Comment: We completed this hike today. It was great fun and well worth the pain. We were fortunate that it didn't rain but it was still very muddy in places! You probably need to be in reasonable physical condition to attempt the hike and the section between the Valley of Desolation and the lookout point on the way back is definitely the toughtest. Peter Green was a great tour guide and we would certainly recommend him. If you decide to do this hike then we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Comment: I visited boiling lake a few years ago. Having visited many interesting places, this is one place that really resonates. The desolation and the spledor. The white river, green river, valley of desolation, the lake, the instant waterfalls created by a sudden cloudburst are all surrealistic. If you saw this in a Hollywood movie, you wouldn't believe any of it. A long, arduous hike, full of hills and mud, but well worth it!

Comment: We hiked to Boilin' in June of 1995. I remember how beautiful the hike was. Even more, I remember how sore we were the next day! It was quite an accomplishment!

Comment: Boiling Lake was amazing.........going through so many different terrains!!! We had a wonderful local guide, Elvis, who resides in the village of Laduat, who was so passionate and enthusiatic about our hike...that it was such a wonderful experience to be able to complete it. I think this, was such a fulfilling hike for myself. Although, I felt it was strenuous, I did not feel any muscle pain the next day....aso I did Middleton Falls, Freshwater and Bori Lakes, all in one day, a few days earlier. Maybe that helped a little!!!

Comment: Did this hike twice while my family still lived in Dominica-both times we took visitors up. It was easier when I was 12 versus 18!! It is an amazing hike well worth it. We needed to take sunblock though-it rained the first bit, but we got sunburnt before entering the valley of desolation.
