We've enjoyed all four installments of blockbuster 'Pirates of the Caribbean' moveis. The latest hit 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger TIdes' introduced new cast members (Penelope Cruz was terrific!) and re-captured the fun and romp of the first movie.

The film-makers for Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3 had their work cut out for them!

The sites selected for filming were spread throughout Dominica, from the rugged northern coast in the foothills of Morne Aux Diables, to the steep rocky cliffs of the southwestern coast between Point Michel and Soufriere.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 launches in the USA, but the movie theatre in Roseau has closed and Dominicans wonder when they will get a chance to see the movie.

May 31, 2005:
Dominica says farewell to the cast & crew, as they leave for filming in the Bahamas.

More than 1,700 people turned out to three casting calls for Pirates of the Caribbean II & III here in Dominica. The casting calls were held in January. Some submitted their applications online through the Pirates Casting website.
