Last night a benefit concert was held at Harlem Plaza to help support Tarina in her bid to win the Digicel Rising Star Competition. Put together in less than 24 hours, it was the brainchild of Matt Peltier, Khimo Astaphan and Emile DePooter, and was sparked from an idea on Tuesday morning’s Matt in the Morning Talk Show on Q95 Radio. The event was also broadcast on local TV by Marpin Telecoms.

Tarina’s performances were wonderful. She drew the crowd through a series of emotions from blues to reggae to pop, finishing with her stunning rendition of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best.”
