This event gave Dominica a chance to showcase her beauty to both regional and international communities. Most were impressed with Dominica’s lush green atmosphere, just hinted at by the beautiful views from the stadium.
The stadium itself did us proud. The cricket grounds were said to be superbly kept, one commentator calling the stadium “the best in the Caribbean.” Scoring more than 600 runs during the final match is a testament to the quality of the pitch.
The enthusiasm and support from Dominica’s fans were second to none. The cheers of the crowd were heard throughout the city of Roseau, rising up to the Morne. The elusive victory of Sunday’s match was heartbreaking, but we can only hope that more matches in such a positive environment can spur the West Indies on to future success!
