This year marks Dominica’s 32nd Anniversary of Independence. The Official Independence Opening Ceremony kicks off at 5pm this Saturday, September 25th at the Old Mill Cultural Centre in Canefield.
Each year, Independence Celebrations include activities such as Creole Day, Market Day with a Difference, and the Cultural Dancing Competitions. Some new activities have been added this year, such as the Creole Food Fest & Fashion Show and the National Coconut Festival.
It’s also the time of year for two major events: Creole in the Park and the World Creole Music Festival.
