I recently had a chance to do a hike I’d long wanted to do – the trail that connects the east coast village of Petite Soufriere with the beautiful bay at Rosalie.
The coast road going south from Castle Bruce is a stunning one in itself, passing as it does high above the coastline and winding through the precipitous villages of Good Hope and San Sauveur. But the road ends at the village of Petite Soufriere, and to proceed further south it’s the trail.
Mostly there are tantalising glimpses of the sea crashing on the rugged volcanic coast but you are rewarded with a couple of great viewpoints overlooking this beautiful part of Dominica.
